what can you do with a master degree in Biochemistry?

I am planning to do a master degree in Biochemistry just in case I can't get into dental school this application cycle. I thinking that there are some pre-meds are in the same boat as me and plan to do a master as a backup. But other than making the application looks better, what can you do with a master degree in Biochemistry? Can you find a good paid job with a master degree in Biochemistry? Thanks

I have a friend that's doing that exact same thing. He plans on working for a drug company afterwards doing medicinal chemistry research and development or something like that.
