Hi everyone! The professor I asked for a letter of rec has retired recently and stated that they don't have any official letterhead stationary. I was wondering if it was possible for them to write a letter of rec without it? Do med schools accept letter of recs without the official letterhead? What should I do besides ask someone else?

I think it should be fine as long as he explains his role/position at the beginning of the letter.

Often times retired professors still have access to the universities letter head. I had the same issue and I reached out to my university and they told me that if the professor were to reach out they could get the letter head.

It is so easy to "make" letterhead these days. Any retired professor who is at a loss should ask a grandchild, anyone's grandchild.
