I didn't work as a tech before pharmacy school. I got a job as an intern and worked during pharmacy school, so I was able to pair those and learn my drugs and OJT.
I have a tech that is constantly saying he graduated from college/pharmacy tech school with an associates. His knowledge on everything pharmacy is lacking. He doesn't know how to pronounce any of the drug names. He doesn't know what is a control and what's not a control. I think the program is 6 months to a year and kind of expensive. In my state, it's not a requirement to go to tech school. You can just take an exam and become certified to work in a pharmacy. What exactly do they teach them in tech school?
