What do you need to get inducted into AOA?

I really don't know too much about this honor society, it just seems that for getting good residency placement it's a good thing to have according to med students. Is there one society or does each medical school have their own? How do you get selected? Just curious.

Every medical school has there own chapter (I think, there may be some schools without an AOA chapter as well) and every school has their own criteria for selection. You'll have to check with each medical school on their own criteria. The criteria may include your class rank, number of honors, clinical evaluations, step scores, extracurricular activities, research, publications, personal connections at the school, etc.
