Hello everyone! This is my first post on SDN and I am super excited to hear what you all have to say! I am looking to apply to DO school, but am taking a 1-2 year gap period to work and save up some money. I am currently working at a drug infusion clinic as a patient resource specialist. I graduated college with a health sciences degree and my GPA is a 3.494. I shadowed the chief of surgery and observed over 30 surgeries, I was in a 2 year leadership program at my school in which I volunteered over 200 hours (including in the ER), and this may not pertain but I was assistant manager at an auto shop (maybe that shows well-roundedness and leadership skills) while I was in college. I have not taken the MCAT yet, but am going to be taking a prep course starting in October and then I will study on my own as well. I know not much can be said for GPA alone, but say I do well on the MCAT, are my chances with this GPA good? I would love to go to pretty much any DO school in the nation, but have my eye on LECOM, ACOM, and AZCOM. I should be 24 if I start DO school in 2 years after my gap period.

As long as your MCAT is 500 you should receive some DO interviews. Over 505 and you could receive interviews at any DO school.

Get above 515 and you might do well to add some state MD schools and low-tier MDs.
