I've had 2 interviews and both times I got this question. My mind simpy goes blank. What do they expect me to say??? I felt that both times I fumbled the answer. Am I suppose to list my qualities? I think I have a few, but this kind of thing feels like bragging to me, which I honestly despise.
I have been placed on alternate list post-interview at one of the schools (which there essentially means rejection), and still have not heard from the other. The issue is that I have 2 more interviews coming up, and I would like to do better.
I'd appreciate any advice on how to handle this particular question.

Hi yyd,
When I get that question, I already have told the interviewer most of my qualifications, and the admissions comittee will have my AMCAS right in front of them. I just ask my interviewer to tell the adcoms how honored I am to have been invited for an interview, how excited I am about the school, and how much I want to attend (i.e. "I would be so happy here" or "This programs fits me" or "This is my DREAM SCHOOL"). I think that gets more across that isn't already there on paper.

I got asked this and what I said something to the effect of the adcoms should look pass the numbers and see what a difference I've made to the people around me and how this alone shows my dedication to underserved populations and how I will continue these efforts as a physician.... I guess it was an okay answer then.. but who knows 😳

If you want the adcom to know that this is a good fit or your dream school, be able to describe why it is a good fit. Show that you know something about the curriculum, the culture of the school, etc. It isn't enough that the school is highly ranked or has a great match list, etc. What is it about it and you that are perfect together? Schools love to know that you will matriculate if offered admission. Don't be insincere; an adcom can smell that a mile away.
