What do you wear the 1st 2 years of dental school? Can you wear casual clothes (jeans/shorts) or do you need to wear nicer clothes or do you have to wear scrubs? Thanks. :)

Depend on your school dress code. I heard that at some private expensive kind of schools, birthday-suit works just fine, they'd rather you pay your tuition than spending money on your clothes  :D

We have to wear either scrubs, which is what I wear, or dress clothes. No T shirts or blue jeans! Also no open toed shoes etc. They used to not allow dress shirts, just shirt and tie, but they got away from that. Girls have it great though. They can wear skirts when it gets hot as long as they are "dressy" Men can't wear any type of shorts, which sucks when the A/C isn't too good!

IUSD's dress code is pretty relaxed. Scrubs are fine, as are pretty much any clothes in good repair and within the limits of good taste.

Casual--shorts, sandals, hats...whatever. 3rd and 4th years wear scrubs or collared shirts

And today was the easiest dissection by far. ;) Wait till you do the face, you'll want to bash your head against the wall. Thank God for prosections!

It gets easier and more fun, though. Keep truckin'!

oh i can already tell we are gonna have fun with the head and face. all those amll/thin muscle.
i was just soooo frustrated because we (6 of us) were the only ones kinda behind as far as the dissection goes. just had waaaaay too much cleaning up (removing fat) to do as suppose to doing the actual dissection.
its still not bad though. they said we can go to the lab and and work on it till 10pm M-F.
