I am really impressed. I submited my application on Aug 21 and today it was processed. Plus I already received two secondaries. I am in schock, because I was told by everybody that it takes AAMC weeks to process application. WOW.
I did not find any explanation about gpa abriviation. What is BCPM
Thanks.

BCMP = Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, collectively your science GPA

but what medschools care more about: BCPM or total?

They look at both but BCMP is probably more important, especially for some schools. I think NYU places a lot of emphasis on it.

The secondaries you are getting now are from schools that do not screen. Thus, even before your application is processed/verified, they have already sent you secondarys.

well I don't really care if they screen or not at this point. I was very surprised that appl got processed sooooo fast

Your application is not "processed," as in grades checked to match with your transcript. Because you indicated that you are applying to these non-screening schools on your application, the instant you submit, they know you have them on your list and they automatically send you secondaries.

No, I got verification from AMCAS saying that my application was processed!

Oh, in that case, AAMC is definitely on its toes this time of year for once. Congratz and good hunting.

Those 2 secondaries you recieved are instant. Some schools (Columbia, Albert Einstein) don't screen your primary at all, they just send you an email congratulating you and getting your $100 bucks. :meanie: They don't even wait for your AMCAS to be processed or confirmed. Yet another ****ty thing about this process. Apologies for the negative attitude, sometimes you got to vent. It is awesome to get secondaries, of any variety. Congrats.

Hey Dr. N,

You should check out the websites of all the schools you applied to for secondaries. Some schools have their secondaries available and you can actually complete it and send it off before they even receive the verified AMCAS application. It will speed up the whole process.

Some schools that I applied to before they received my verified AMCAS were LU, Creighton, EVMS, MSSM, GWU, Jefferson, and UVM. Good luck!
