Thanks

The program is usually around 2 years, but the vast majority of people applying to those programs have >2-5 years of full time clinical experience (either as a EMT, CNA, nurse, or something of that nature). Depending on where they work, they can make an upwards of 40-60k starting, perhaps more in rural areas, and less so in areas with a high doctor-patient ratio. Depending on how high the demand is, some PAs (controversially, of course), have almost full or basically full autonomy over patients, and in many cases have the ability to run clinics.

If you want an honest response to your questions, or if you are genuinely interested in the profession, I'd suggest going to the PA board here on the forums, and if its not as active right now, PM or email some of the 'regulars.' This question has been answered there ad nauseum, and putting it here will likely start an ego war.
