Just curious, within your 4 years of undergrad, what extracirricular activities have you done, are currently doing, or plan on doing?

You can find the various premed activities on a site like but remember it's important to do activities that you are passionate about rather than imitating others. For example, I like sports so I try to raise donations of sports cards to send to various hospitals, childrens groups, etc. since they often brighten up the day of a sick child. Baseball cards might not be the most impressive thing to an adcom but, at the end of the day, it's been one of my most enjoyable experiences. I was actually pleasantly surprised to see a group of NYU med students do the same thing:

My MDApps is in my signiture - it lists everything I am doing or have done. I will also be shadowing a private practice oncologist, the head of rad onc at my university hospital and various ER shadowing this summer. I am currently applying to be the volunteer director for an organization called the 10,000 hours show at my school, so maybe that too. Other than that, I will be continuing my activities from this year next year.

I feel the need to ask, would it be worth it to include as an EC the fact that I'm restoring my beat up 72 land cruiser? I spend a lot of time on it, but I'm not exactly doing a complete frame off restoration. And it's not like I'm helping anyone else out by doing this. But I feel that it is a big accomplishment for me, as I have never ever worked on cars before aside from changing a tire once.
