What if MCAT is retaken after applying?

Let's say I apply and send it my applications this June, but retake the MCAT a month or more after I have sent in the application. Will the school look at the new MCAT score? What's the latest I could retake and have the schools still consider the new score, or would they at all?

A friend of mine submitted his application on the first day he could, took his MCAT end of May, and retook it again in July. He got into RWJ
They still considered both, and I believe the latest is in January for some schools (they list it on their website)
