What is a competitive MCAT score for top schools with the new MSAR?

Hi everyone!

I just got my MCAT score back today and scored a 519. With schools having higher and higher median scores shown by the new MSAR, is this score still competitive for top schools or do they typically prefer 520+?

Thanks!

Couldn't tell you, not sure; I am sure others will comment with exactly what you are asking, I just came to say two things.
1. Congrats on the score!
2. The difference between a 519 and a 525 is like a total of 5-10 questions difference. Schools at the level want more than just the MCAT score, they want to see that you have a 3.9+ cGPA and sGPA, the research, the pubs, the shadowing, the volunteering, and the leadership positions. IF you have a 519 and everything else to go with it, then I would apply to them regardless. Good luck!
