Hi Guys and Gals

Does anybody know how AEGD works. How does 2 year AEGD allow us to take up regional boards. If one is doing AEGD will he be allowed to take up regional boards in that particular state where does AEGD. I am really confused.

I'm not sure I understand your questions, but a graduate can take any of the regional boards they choose.

Are you asking whether or not a participant in an AEGD needs to be licensed in the state where they are attending the AEGD?

What I am asking is what is the advantage of doing AEGD vs. Residency program. I have heard AEGD qualifies students to take up regional board exams. Correct me if I am wrong.

I am also referring this in perspective of International dentist who has no Masters degree here in US but just foreign dental degree like B.D.S

I heard that AEGD programs are open at anytime during one's career once a DDS/DMD degree has been earned whereras GPR programs are only open to dental school graduates duirng the immediate acceaptance cycle following the awarding of a DDS/DMD degree. Anyone else heard that to be true?

Not true to my knowledge. Any advanced educational program (specialty or GPR/AEGD) can be applied to at any point in a career.
