Hello,

I have tried researching this subject on the internet but come up with little to no results, and results only want a small fee or something, so I'm asking the Doctors on this website......what exactly is Patulous Eustachian Tube Disorder and how exactly is it treated???????????

Presents with roaring tinnitus, echophony and a feeling of fullness in the ear...accentuated with respiration. Essentially PET is a wider to fully open Eustachian tube, which normally is not completely open. There appear to be treatments involving salicylates, teflon/paraffin injection to narrow the lumen of the tube, as well as other structural 'fixes'. The only palliative treatments seem to be lying down at regular intervals and some supect herbal meds. Normally, the eustachian tube only opens during swallowing, or during Valsalva maneuver, etc. Ultimately, the middle ear can potentially sustain damage from exposure to the nasopharynx. Hope this helps.

Hey Owl,

I know this is a really crazy idea, but why don't you go see a doctor? (you know, like a real live one?)
