I'm sure everybody had a school they really wanted to go to when they first started but for some reason now can't, why can't you go to your dream school?

I was rejected

My interview is really late.... Who knows if they'll have room for me?

Uhm...anything on your application can keep you from being accepted to your dream school. Weak grades and/or MCAT, interpersonal flaws, or maybe they just have enough Russian athletes/supermodels like you in their class, so you are out. 😉

What I had meant was, is your gpa too low?, did you not score high enough on the MCAT, and things like that.

The restraining orders various members of the adcom have on me!!!

GPA too low, MCAT too low, not enough publications, not enough clinical exposure, and I am ugly.

Yeah, I knew when they asked for a passport photo I was doomed.

I smell bad too.

Luckily my dream school said they don't consider hygiene as a factor.

Low MCAT and I didn't care about grades during (non-premed) undergrad.

they ask for passport photos?! i took one but it looks so anti social. i was tired and cranky and the post office workers where pissing me off... guess i need a new passport..

I live in California

I really don't know, but I assume it was because I haven't had enough "life experience." I'm only 20 and I guess I look like the little Asian girl whose Mommy always wanted her to be a doctor, and who did well in school but never really saw any of the nitty gritty GRITS of life, ya know? 😉 these can be pretty major points against you...

A poor verbal score (9) and I bombed this one interview question. What does community health mean to you? All I could think of in my head was "Jack Squat lady. When I was growing up I went to the ER and waited in line with all the other poor bastards." I think I said something like "A hollistic approach to ... " followed by random b.s. Hasta La Vista UCSF

Its nice to think that by bombing two passages on my MCAT, one on artistic realism, and one on some weird philosophical thing I dont remember, my score went from the upper thirties to a 33.

All I can say....
**** Happens
Write a unified essay in which you perform the following tasks. Explain what you think the above statement means. Describe a specific situation in which **** doesn't happen. Discuss what you think determines when **** happens and when it doesn't.

Adcoms, sucky GPA, sucky stats, no research, bad secondary pics....ugh why did I even apply.

The fact that my dream school doesn't exist. I'm ready to design it, if somebody will give me the money 😛

well.

my outdated low undergrad grades in the premed classes, that i took as a non-premed bio major. a C in biochem/orgo/physics 12+ years ago doesn't seem to be compensated for by a 3.9 in physical science grad school, a professional scientific career for the past 6 years, and an 11P 11B 13V S on the MCAT last year. although one could argue that it should.

two dream schools: UCSF (already rejected, and i'm so in state that i can see the school from my bathroom window), Tufts (no word yet).
