I’m a big fan of staying the course in mutual funds, but I also research individual stocks with high upside. Feel free to use this as a reminder for caution if my play fails over the next 12 months. I’m already up quite a bit, but they have continued opportunity for price escalation in my opinion.

I’m in on a small oil producer called Vaalco (EGY). They had record production in Q3, escalating Brent prices (they produce in Africa on Brent prices), and have a contract there 12+ years. They have no debt. The next earnings report for Q3 will be around first week of November. If earnings are good in Q3 or Q4, I think a 25%+ gain is very reasonable. As always, do your own due diligence.

To assist in calling me out in the future, the price is currently $2.56.
