what is the score by which IMG could compete for surgery and other competitive programs ??

is it impossible to get surgery as i hear ???

Im afraid that doesnt apply to IMGs

take a look at the nrmp match results, looks like the average for img for surgery was a little below 230, work on the other aspects of your application and you will have a chance

from what I read, foreign LORs are of very little value at the very best.

FM, Peds, IM, Psych would any day be less competitive than Surg for an IMG but a prelim Surg spot is definitely within reach, even if you aren't able to work on other aspects of your application.
