What is the test schedule at your dental school like?

Ok, two scenarios: Which one does your d school fall into? And elaborate if neither scenario is the case...

1) Does your school spead out the tests so that you have a couple of tests every week... (If this is the case, about how many tests do you have a week?)...

OR..

2) Do you have a "finals week" type setup where you have no tests for a couple of weeks then take a whole bunch of tests for a couple of days?

3) Explain any other scenarios.. Thanks.

Please state your school and how they set up the testing schedule...

Thanks everybody!

1. 1 test a week (90% of the time)

2. Very rare. Majority of our courses have multiple exams throughout the semester, therefore no finals week.

3. One of the better reasons to be at BU, and have fun in dental school. :)

we have a final week at the end of each semester for the classes that run for the entire semester. each exam is worth 100% of your course grade during that week. at the end of that week, there is a half-day ("board-like") competency exam that you must pass to move on to the next semester that includes every class you have taken up to that point.

if a class only runs for 3 weeks, the final for that class is taken at the end (worth 100%) of your grade.

along the way there are "formative" quizzes and tests for some classes that give you feedback on how well you are doing, but do not count for anything.

We have continuous assessment(for , about 30%, comprised of practicals, orals, written, mcq etc)), and a Final exam.(for 70).

The continuous assessment takes more than one day, so we sometimes end up having an exam every week or 2.

Hey,

Thanks for posting! - three quick questions:

1) Which dental school do you go to?
2) And how often is the "continuous assessment"? Weekly? Daily?
3) What do you mean by the continuous assessment taking more than one day?
