Premature or not, I was just curious what specialty everybody was interested in or if you had thought about it yet... (and yes, i know we'll probably all change our minds when we hit rotations, etc., but it's just interesting to see what people have in mind prior to hitting MS-1) 👍

Right now, I'm interested in psychiatry, neurology, and PM&R.

Primary Care Sports Physician / Dentist

still deciding...

20 years already in the field of Radiology - so probably rads.

Emergency medicine all the way...Unless I end up top 5% of the class to get that coveted Ortho spot.

Strongly Considering:

NMM (OMM)
EM
Critical Care

Considering:

Trauma Surgery

Maybe Considering:

Psychiatry
Cardiology

A good one...

1. neurosurg- general
2. ortho- spine
3. gen surg- maybe vascular, trauma or colo-rectal (shut up! the butt is important)
4. neuro
5. EM

Right now I see it going this way...

1) Ped Oncology
2) EM (can't get the medic outta me)
3)med/peds

1. Dermatology
2. General Internal Medicine with possibility of subspecializing in neurology or cardiology.
3. Family Medicine w/out OB

ER
Peds

and as of recently, ortho and rad has been looking good.

No one wants to do Ob/GYN?

Can't imagine why...afterbirth is weird stuff.

Wait until they get their first gander at a real-life up-close-and-personal placenta. Looks like a damn alien when you drop it into the blue bucket.
