Wow, I'm surprised by the amount of people here that want to become emergency medicine docs. I think we might just meet the quota required in the next several years if this trend keeps on going! I hope so too, since we've currently got a shortage of emergency docs!
I'm pretty much like a lot of the people here though...not quite sure, though I do have some ideas. Of course, I'm a fickle person; maybe this'll all change when I'm done with pre-med, and maybe change again in my 3rd and 4th years of medical school. I hope it doesn't change when I'm finished with residency or years down the road while I'm still in practice.
For now, I've got (in no particular order):
Family Practice, Medical Genetics, Preventive Medicine, Allergy/Immunology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology, and like Nylee, I'm definitely not going into surgery!
Though a pre-med friend of mine is, specifically neurosurgery.
