What leadership experience(s) do you have?

Maybe you can apply to be the next Apprentice for Donald Trump? 😉

Sounds like the request of a born follower! 😀

Should I mention being the student body president of my high school? I realize they're mostly looking for college stuff but that's my last real leadership experience.

I think post-secondary = post-high school....

although ONE of my interviewers asked about all of my high school stuff! It was hard to remember!

I am a born follower, a very good one. But the term "good citizenship" describes it better. Sometime I wonder what Adcoms are doing putting all those good leaders together in med school and residency like allstars event. They must know that good leaders are also those who can follow the best.

run for class president, and make sure you win.. Will give you something to talk about on interviews

does a coach of a little league team count?

It should.

But c'mon, is it really that difficult to get leadership experience?

Become an E-board member in one of the clubs you are in.

Don't know how much time you have but you could always start your own club/org/IM team etc...

Premed AMSA has some great leadership opps but you need some experience in the association to be any good at any of them...

You don't have to win. My personal statement was about me losing by the closest margin in school history, well part of it anyway. I lost by 4 votes in an election where 7500 people voted. It was a hell of a conversation starter.

Coffee-
Have you been named captain to any sports team you were on? Did you facilitate any groups or organizational meetings?
If you're REAL young, you may not have anything to add in that stands out as a leadership experience. But if you've ever been placed in charge of others or been held responsible for another person or group, I'd say to put it in as leadership.
G'Luck.

Don't put HS SBP down.

Schools are very general in defnining leadership experience. Tutoring, volunteer projects you led, sports teams (not high school), clubs (officer, etc.), teaching Sunday School, TA, etc. all qualify.
