What makes a rotation site "good"

I hear a lot of talk about a school having "good" rotation sites but what exactly does that mean? Does it mean the hospitals are good hospitals? In a good location? There are many to choose from?

Everyone will have their own definition but in general:

Reputed to have faculty/residents who enjoy teaching

Nice facility

Wide variety of patients/diseases

Close to home/school

Free food/parking

1. How much you actually get to do. This is critical, if you are mostly shadowing you will be very poorly prepared for residency

2. Breadth of pathology. This is also crucial, you want to be able to be very familiar with common stuff but also be able to tease out the more unusual ones, especially things that are an emergency

It's a plus if everyone is not a complete jerk but honestly secondary to one and two
