You'll know what I mean if you watch TLC..

Anyway...For the ladies...what can't we wear at LECOM (besides the obvious: sneakers, jeans, sweats, etc)?

Really, it is much easier to pass the fashion inspection at Lecom if you are female. Besides the obvious (jeans, sweats, and the like), stay away from skirts that are too mini. Scrubs aren't allowed in the Gross lab. They recommend polo shirts and khaki pants. Most people wore warm up pants and T- shirts, though. My advice is to buy clothes you would consider business casual with a nice suit or two thrown in for important days. I'll tell you that I have seen some "unique" fashion statements made at Lecom, but they all passed dress code.

You wouldn't be referring to anything leopard print, specifically, would you, sddoc?

You can wear whatever you want as a female, except those items already stated. Also I think there was some rule about sandals....not enforced!! I have even seen girls get away with dark dark blue jeans. In other words, for us, its not that bad. For once, its easier to be a female! Yea!

what I found great was second semester of MSII....youll be able to count the people IN DRESS CODE in lectures on your hands. By then no one cares about anything other than that little exam in early June. Me....when I did show up....had a preference for either shorts, scrubs, sweats, or flannel pjs. T shirts also became quite the norm.

are nylons required with a skirt? i assume in the winter you probably want to wear them, but how about when the weather is warm?

No nylons, prob. technically, but not enforced!

Leopard print stretch pants... apparently also acceptable. 😱

How about leopard print nylons.... a must-have for all Fall fashions!! 😉

wow, I guess my leopard pants really left an impression on sddoc. And I always kind of considered myself a snappy dresser. Oh well.

My advice would thus be: make sure you get all of your clothes at the MALL and do not under any circumstances purchase clothing that is not GRAY, TAN, OR BLACK (I guess you can wear a white shirt, maybe). God forbid you startle a sensitive soul.

And really, just wear what you would normally wear to a job or somewhere you want to make a good impression. Nylons are not required, and most females also wear open toe shoes or sandals and it doesn't seem to be a problem. My advice is to start conservative, and branch out from there. Good Luck!

Don't get me wrong... I love animal prints! I have my zebra leisure suit and feather boa all set for the first day of classes!

Are sneakers and sandels the only shoe no-nos? What about doc martins? Not steel toe or boots but just regular brown lace shoes?
