Hi, I'm a junior in college and made a stupid mistake, and recieved a misdemeanor offense. I know some med schools ask, but I've also heard that when you apply for attending positions in hospitals and also for residency they ask as well. Do you think that since this happened in the past, and that I'm a stupid college student that made a stupid mistake, that they'll not strike me down for it? Everyone makes mistakes, right? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Same here-- the licensing board wanted to know about felonies.

While my license application only asked about felony convictions, my residency program required a background investigation and clearance by the State Police. I don't know if your misdemeanor offense will be a problem, but if asked, I would be sure to provide all information about these circumstances that lead to your mistake.

thanks a lot guys

If I ever get to that point of going to residency, and it comes up, I'll explain it. I figure that since it happened a while ago, and nothing has happened since (i'm sure of it), they'll realize I was a young, naive college student who made a mistake.
peace
