if someone with perfect stats screw up interviews for whatever reason, does he still have a chance? is there a difference between job intervews and those of dental admission?

Don't underestimate the importance of an interview. I have heard stories, some from deans and other people a part of the admissions process, in which individuals with amazing stats bomb the interview some how (e.g. brain dead lab rats lacking social skills and charm) and lost all hope of admissions as a result.
At my interview at one school... the interviewer asked me if i had people skills.
I replied: "I have people skills!!! God dammit... what part of it do you not understand?!".

I think the importance placed on the interview probably depends on the school and the applicant pool. If you have perfect stats, they want you. But, if a whole lot of other people have perfect stats and are more personable, more weight will be placed on it. You should be fine unless you are a real full-of-yourself jerk. Like I have noticed some SDNers are (ex: Blackstars)
He seemed to put on a good enough performance to get in.
