I have a 3.35 AMCAS cGPA, and 3.33 AMCAS sGPA. I have taken the MCAT twice and I got a 27 both times. I have clinical and non-clinical volunteering as well as extracurriculars. I graduated in May 2014, and I'm currently looking into a job and more volunteering/shadowing. What are my chances for the upcoming cycle if I take the MCAT again in April and studied differently? Any suggestions/options would be appreciated.

Is your AACOMAS GPA any different? Your 27 (assuming somewhat balanced) would make you competitive for DO schools, though I would caution a third retake if you don't have some reason to think you'll do better.

My AACOMAS GPA is a 3.43 for both science and cumulative.

Then you're more than solid for DO schools. I would say to do some DO shadowing (perhaps one primary care as well as one specialist) and think about that route.

If you want to go for the MD road, you'll need to really do well on the MCAT (mid-30s+ equivalent) --- and even then, I would apply state schools/lower tier/DO. I would recommend a structured course (e.g., Kaplan) and two to three months of dedicated studying.

Would I need to take a post-bacc in that case?
