What should I do over this summer?

Hey,

I'm a junior who will be going to Ghana for 6 weeks over late May-end of June. I'm a little concerned that I might not be able to go (passport issues...) What do you guys suggest could be a back-up plan for me? Preferably, I'd like to do a research program over the latter part of summer (July-August), but I don't know if anything lasts that short.

I could also work at the lab I currently work at, but I'd like to get stipended, if possible, and I don't know if my PI would be able to stipend me.

Any suggestions?

Your PI probably has a little bit of money for a couple of months if it's like any of the labs I worked in.

If it were me, I'd be relaxing by the pool.
