what to know about metabolism

What have those of you taking prep courses been told to memorize about metabolism? I have a pretty good general concept of what goes on, but I am wondering if it is necessary to memorize all the dreaded enzymes and individual steps of glycolysis/Kreb's cycle.

What to know about DNA repair? My Gold Standard book doesn't go into it in any detail.

Do not memorize the enzymes or the molecules, you do not need to know about DNA repair.

what about overall reactions and things like knowing how many ATPs are formed, NADH, FADH etc?

What scuba said. Know where all of it happens. The difference in Aerobic and anerobic. How many of what are produced. how many turns in a cycle. Cytochrome C and maybe what anebolic and catebolic is.

nah, not really, that stuff is nice to know but I don't see it being on the mcat.
