you're the bjork freak that started that weird thread a while back, huh?

Japanese Rock. Ahhh sooo.

I like the McLachlan too. She hit her peak with Mirrorball, though. Lately she's produced some mediocre stuff.

Iron & Wine is very very good. stoic knows what I'm talking about. I also like some of the low key stuff like Nick Drake and Elliott Smith. It's a shame how those artists wound up... 🙁

Anyway my music taste is extremely eclectic. I've got a little bit of everything. Everything except country, which I generally hate, although I admit there are some good country songs out there.

oooh elliott smith, nice.
i also like rachael yamagata, shes good.

Radiohead (These guys put on an AWESOME concert)

I listen to anything that sounds good to my ears, even some country.

Most of the times I'm listening to booty shaking music like hiphop, trance but also NIN, greenday, etc.

classical, ska, punk, rock/alternative, japanese pop, trance

hip hop boycott however. most american pop too

😎 Tool, A Perfect Circle, System of a Down, Tori Amos, NIN, Pigface, Classical Guitar, The new Fiona Apple, Morecheeba, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Beck, Audioslave.....these are all currently in my ipod among others.

That's true, Afterglow isn't really up to par, but she's busy with her daughter and stuff, so not really her fault. I attended her concert at Berkeley once (Afterglow tour), and she talked about how in the old days she could lock herself in a cabin for days writing lyrics, but as a mother that's completely unfeasible.

nirvana=commercial wannabe soundgarden

Everything mentioned before is cool. i'll admit that I'm not very music savy. i love a lot of traditional types of music. I'm from Hawaii, so I absolutely love slack key guitar (this saved me while studying for mcat's), jazz (all types: mingus, armstrong, blakey, st. germain, mmw, goodman, davis, marsalis, rat pack, big bad voodoo daddy), after study abroad i learned to like classical chinese music. i'm also guilty of liking a limited variety of present day pop, hip hop, r&b, etc.

i am a HUGE cure fan!!! have been since i was 10!!!! and i have seen them live like 8 times! robert smith is awesome!

bjork is not too shabby either, although i prefer her earlier stuff.

A lot of hard rock, although some rap/hip hop and trancey stuff, too. especially Korn, System of a Down, Orgy, Borialis, 311, Julien-K, and Sevendust.

Best album ever: Blood Sugar Sex Majik- Red Hot Chili Peppers
Close second: Candyass- Orgy (rock and electronic rolled into one!)

Lately I have been listening to

Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Billy Bragg (always), Hot Club of Cowtown (Western Swing), Old 97s, Wayne Hancock

AND

Johnny Socko (ska), Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modelling School, and always some Gang of Four as my anger outlet.

Man you just never know...

It's always either System of a Down, Cold, Staind, Wicked (Yes, the broadway musical), Tetris (don't ask), Wide assortment of classical, Tim Mcgraw, or Gary Allen.

What can I say, I like a little of everything.

beck is my all-time favorite artist - a genius! and a cutie...
favorite new cd: zero 7 (try destiny" and "in the waiting line"
other notables: ying yang twins, jill scott, ron sexsmith, america

Music is teh lame.
But lately I haven't been able to stop listening to the joggers newest album or "we got it for cheap: vol 2.", and hollertronix - vols 2 & 3 EP.

I have just about everything in my MP3 player...

Godsmack, Morcheeba, Tegan and Sarah (my dirty little secret), Iron and Wine, The Doves, Zer 7, Esthero, Fatboy Slim, Staind, A Perfect Circle, Tool (who doesn't love Prison Sex?), Dave Matthews, Stereophonics, BJORK, Tricky, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin, and one of the coolest bands ever- Theivery Corporation.

There is almost no hiphop/rap love...Wheres the diversity?

So I had to represent.... G G G G Unit, Kanye, DMX, E40, JayZ, etc. Everything West Coast/East Coast, some underground and a little South love.

my iPod has hit the point now where if i buy a new cd, i have to delete something in order to put something new on it...and i try to keep a good variety of stuff on there:

Pearl Jam, Ben Folds, Radiohead, Bottle of Justus, Dashboard Confessional, Death Cab for Cutie, U2, Kanye, Dr. Dre, Bad Religion, Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, Minus 5, R.E.M., Fall Out Boy, Chopin (piano pieces), The Walkmen, The Used, Dylan, The Who, Pink Floyd, Mother Love Bone, Johnny Cash...

Classic rock, country, some classical music. Have sworn off rap/hip hop and most pop music, though I admit to being on a Kelly Clarkson kick for the past couple months.

Nice to see a music thread on here. I always want to ask students if they actually have the chance to go to concerts when I visit schools.

Rock, metal and occasionally older rap and r&b.

Favorite bands are pearl jam, tool and nine inch nails. Others include opeth, system of a down, soundgarden, temple of the dog, beastie boys, pink floyd, qotsa...

I figured there would've been more rap/hip-hop fans after seeing that Mike Jones thread.

Anyway, it's either Nas or Jay-Z for me. I'll listen to Fab., AZ, and most NY artists. I find dirty south music (even though I'm from FL.) lame.

Sorry my friend... I did forget to mention that I have G-Unit, Mya, Maxwell, and Angie Stone on my player too...

I listen to classical music, as well as opera ALL THE TIME. I'm a very serious person. I like serious music and if medical schools are reading this, please know that I will make a wonderful and serious doctor. 😎

Haha, just kidding. I love listening to latin pop, country music, some R&B and soft/mellow music. I do listen to some classical when I'm studying and want to block out ppl.

My iPod has also been full for awhile, I might upgrade to a larger size soon. Radiohead is one of my bands to see before I die, they are awesome. Death Cab for Cutie is up there too, I saw Ben Gibbard do a solo acoustic set on Tuesday night which was pretty amazing. The singer of Nada Surf opened for him too, another great band. Most of the music I like is in the signature of my posts.

I usually listen to one I like song over and over again until it makes me sick then I switch to another one. It's like studying for a class you like over and over again even though you already know everything, just for the heck of it.

I listen to mostly classic rock and ska/reggae music but I also listen to a little bit of everything. Favourite bands include Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Sublime, Nirvana, Van Halen, etc.

I am a huge rap/ hip hop fan. Mostly Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Ludacris, and Twista and old skool Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog and LL Cool J.

I am also really into reggaeton: Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon and Ivy Queen.
