That was one of the several points, but you missed the bigger picture, as usual. The new tax plan benefits the rich way more then the poor. 18th century france would not have been ok with trump
I just did my taxes last week and my accountant told me that is not true. She said she shakes her head whenever she sees it reported. I pay more taxes than before. My sister lives in Seattle and makes a lot less than me. She did great with the new taxes. The way it should be.

Are you just looking at dollar amounts? Because obviously even a 1% tax break for a billionaire is going to be more money saved than a 5% reduction in a middle class earner.

I feel like the tax bill, along with its corporate component will prove in the long run to be great for the country. It might partly explain the record unemployment we are experiencing...

I don't think he meant you when he was talking about the Rich......

About the job growth and tax cuts

Trump's Tax Cuts Haven't Spiked Job Growth

If the Republicans really thought the tax cuts were a strong issue , they would have ran on them
Tax cuts a bust for Republicans in midterms

How can you even think that the tax law, which is fully going in to effect this year, had an effect of reducing unemployment from the last 2 years, including even before it was voted on?

You are part of the rich. Of course you benefitted from the law. Although I am technically upper middle class, I didn’t get quite the same benefit, unfortunately for me. It was an overall slight decrease (including changes to paychecks) of 1%.

It is getting harder and harder for you guys to argue that Trump is hurting poor people as unemployment continues to set records and wage growth improves.

Ducttape, you said about 1 year ago that "this is when trump can take credit" (I paraphrase) . Of course u said that because it looked like things were going south. Now you're changing the goal posts again.

discuss....since Forbes has been cited frequently....

"By October 2018, the Trump Administration cut 2.7 major regulations for every one added, greatly reducing regulatory cost and risk.

In addition, the tax cuts signed into law in December 2017 not only reduced corporate tax rates, encouraging investment, they also incentivized U.S.-based multinational corporations to bring home profits held overseas.

In the first nine months of 2018, these firms repatriated $571.3 billion—money needed for job-creating investment at home, but had been held in foreign countries because America had the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world."

Paul Krugman: Trump will bring global recession

the repercussions of presidential economic policy are felt YEARS after they are implemented. trump is enjoying obama's economy right now, just as the next president will have to deal with the gigantic deficit and inevitable recession his supply-side nonsense will create.

"cutting regulations" is code word for letting coal companies dump their waste into our water or allowing predatory loans to students or for low income mortgages.

repatriation of money is great if that money is indeed used to create jobs. however, we have seen that this money is used almost exclusively for stock buy-backs. it doesnt float down to workers. time and again, supply-side economics has been a failure. we will again fail to learn this lesson during and after the next recession.

as far as boosting manufacturing? mazel tov, you have brought back the 19th century economy. how about some innovation into newer energy technologies and hi-tech. trump is a completely backwards thinker.

i notice you havent posted any articles on the damage his tariffs have caused.

i will say that the corporate tax rate had been too high, and a lower rate was reasonable. they should have just lowered the corporate rate and be done with it

krugman is an extremist, but he may prove to be correct is his prediction

ive said before...ill ask again...has Trump had $4.5 TRILLION in quantitative easing, TARP, zero interest rates, or cash for clunkers, or some other artificial govt stimulus? I think the answer is no.

Trump is a blowhard....we all agree. He just needs to get govt out of our way....i think he has. Are we back to evil corporation narrative again? China trade deal is happening. Who is to blame for it "not happening" before?

um... where are you getting information that a china deal is actually happening?

from the same site that NK is denuclearizing, even though there is now activity at 2 missile sites and Kim Jung Un is threatening to restart testing?

and in case you forgot, the US trade deficit is the highest ever, and he added $2 trillion to the federal debt over the past 2 years, at a time when the economy is booming.

maybe, just maybe, the economy is doing so well because he is blowing federal debt to pay for this largess.... $2 trillion is, what, $6000 per American?

The personal income tax breaks expire. What we are left with is the lowered corporate tax. Exactly what you want.

A corporate tax "break" alone would never have passed because "helping evil corporations, evil CEOs in the war between business and their employees, yada yada..."

sigh.

35% to 21% was too big of a plunge. the new tax law was more than just the corporate rate and the rest of it will worsen income inequality.

agreed it hasnt happened yet, but it looks like it will. NK and China trade deal isnt apples to apples. Expectations were low for NK. They havent been ripping us off past couple of decades.

Huh. Didnt know that you two read the report. Wow, you must havr some connections.

Mueller has already done more for this country than trump could in 10 presidencies. The money he will procure from all of the illegal activities he had found will easily pay for the cost of the special counsel.

Dtodd, how about stop acting like you are an expert on everything without all the facts

I agree it was initiated by the socialist left and deep state as an attempt to legitimize a Coup d'état. They are pissed they lost their rigged election system to an outsider that was not poisoned and corrupted by PACs and donations for decades. You guys all hate Trump, ut he is the least corrupt politician sitting in that cesspool called Washington DC, republican and democrat alike.

THAT SAID...we cannot yet conclude that our President was found innocent of collusion because:
1. A sitting president cannot be indicted

Therefore Mueller's announcement that no further indictments may be misleading. Might be he simply cannot by law indict President Trump.

We CAN conclude:
1. Everybody else investigated was not found worthy of indictment. Which is great.

Addendum;

I think the initiation of the special counsel was a total waste and a shame. However, I'm commenting on taking caution in interpreting the lack of further indictments as the end of the story.

The socialists are going to cry and pout for the entirety of President Trumps tenure, they will claw at him non-stop for 8 full years because they cannot handle they lost. They still cannot comprehend how out of touch with America they are.

I don’t see that anything of value has been produced from the report nor that the public interest has been served.
I agree. Manafort was already under investigation before Trump. I don't know if there was any indication for a special counsel.

I agree this was basically an attempted coup by individuals in the political and civil service swamp.

Trump is and was in bed with Russia. That is the reason for the special counsel. We already know that what he found is worth its weight in gold. This is not about a coup, this is not about people being pissed that he won. This is about living in a functioning democracy. Honestly, I know nobodys mind is going to be changed, but you should be ashamed of yourselves

I thought that the special counsel was appointed to determine if Russia tried to meddle in US elections to in order to influence foreign policy regarding its annexation of Crimea?

Nope. Crimea was only peripherally related, as Trump's stances became increasingly pro-russia in general. they are interested in a lot of things, sanction relief, decreasing NATO's power, energy policy, Syria policy oh, North Korea policy. Basically everything Trump has done is a gift to Putin

This was my plan 10 years ago:

Pain docs are govt employees, make 90% MGMA with COLA.
Only pain docs can Rx schedule 2 opiates other than 26 pills from surgeon, ER. Oncology cn Rx for cancer when active treatment.
PCP can Rx Ultram only.
Only pain doc can do procedures, including SCS and kypho.
Cannot own clinic, lab, imaging, ASC.
Take my wife (I mean patients who need/get more than 26 tablets narcotic pain meds), please!

the special counsel was based on bogus reports paid for by political opponents with circular confirmation from a liberal journalist...or it was cuz he fired Comey, a vindictive lawyer who leaked info to the press

I give it 24 hours until Mueller begins the rapid descent from being a mythical figure/war hero/patriot into a republican plant working on behalf of a "foreign power".

I honestly don't know how rank and file democrats continue to tolerate this emotional roller coaster. You guys have staying power! Definitely more to come as long as you're willing to continue wearing the goggles...

Mark my words...

 How much do you think one of those would cost in salary/benefits for a pain clinic? Add 15% if job description includes condition that “employee must cuddle any patient as so directed by provider”.

I think everyone’s pissed, but for different reasons. Depends what side you’re on.

Pissed that this was allowed to happen, or pissed that the plan didn’t work?

Remember the threads here during the Kavanaugh hearings?

True.....I’m done being upset at liberal media. Have been for awhile. I was on the other side when I was a Democrat in my younger years. I feel bad for the “Charlie Browns” on here. But also for all the hate and division they promoted....during the Kavanaugh hearings and the Russian collusion hoax....the same.

1. Despite what trump says, this investigation had to be done. To first clear up the air as to whether Russia interferes with the election.

2. Trump is clearly wrong in believing Putin and the report was specific about this. Russia did interfere. No “I believe Putin” bs.

3. Trump campaign didn’t collude. My guess is, too incompetent to do so, or too devious to get caught.

4. Obstruction still in some doubt. The person who says no obstruction besides trump is the trump-appointed DOJ AG. Bias may be present.

5. Time to let us all go and heal this country. Trump can finally rise above it all and say “ok, that’s over, let’s go make America great.”

Or, he can say “it’s a witch-hunt, the dems are lying, lets punish them and put them in jail.”

I’m guessing unfortunately it will be the latter and not what is good for America...

Is the Democrat congress going to finally let it go and stop their childish resist movement?

will the liberal media allow the country to heal? Doubt it.
I'm hearing some of the talking heads say there is still a case for "obstruction of justice" by Trump. They apparently want to shine a spotlight on how Trump actively attempted to thwart an investigation into a crime that did not happen to protect himself from a crime he did not commit.

I think exposure of this deranged, zombie-like mentality is a good case for Trump's re-election. We need people to be independent thinkers and to fight CNN and other propaganda.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The democrats plan to launch their own congressional investigations into obstruction of justice, tax fraud, etc. Will energize their base for 2020. Republicans can neutralize this by calling for senate investigations into the launching of the Russia probe.

Whomever becomes the democratic nominee has to be "out there" enough to win the primary, but then, over a few months, morph to appear more moderate to have a chance of winning a general election. Green New Deal, Medicare for all, Kavanaugh, Russia probe, more investigations...in the midst of a good economy. Doesn't seem like a winning formula to me.

This is something I'm not clear on.

1. There was zero collusion. Therefore no crime.
2. Mueller's investigation ran 22 months, without interference. It ran to completion. The democrats got to waste $40,000,000 on it. Therefore where is the obstruction?
3. What, exactly, was obstructed? Investigation completed...
