Well, it seems like time for a non-med school post. I know a bunch of us are waiting for answers, so I thought of something interesting to pass the time...
What does your name mean/stand for? Any funny stories of how you got a nickname, or came up with your SDN name??

As for me, well...the Dr. part is obvious (sorry, not very creative) and the Suga is a nickname given to me by my best friend when we met freshman year. He thought this guy I liked was sort of feminine and started calling him "Suga draws (as in the underwear)"...the draws part dropped after a while and I was left with Suga as a lifelong reminder of a simple crush...

Well, I have a penis. That accounts for the "Man" part. The "Swamp" portion, however, is a bit more complicated. "The Swamp" is the nickname for our (UF's) intimidating stadium. I've extended its symbolism to encompass all of UF. Since I attend UF, I am SwampMan. I hope you found that analysis informative. ;) :p

My real name is Jeff. So being creative, I spelt it differently. Geoff.

This is really dorky, but. . . my boyfriend calls me his morning light.

It's also fitting because the morning happens to be my favorite time of day.

So there you have it. :)

The city I grew up in in Utah, the city I went to undergrad, Seattle, and the city I live in now S.F. are on the apices of an equilateral triangle , w/sides ~850 miles long each. It makes remembering flight times easier.

Daredevil happens to be my favorite comic book hero :D :D :p I also like his motto "Man without Fear", which is probably the way to go about this whole application and interview process.. Never be intimidated by how hard it seems to be, it will be over soon.

Well, mine is actually kind of lame... :D

Lately, I've been so confused about my "liasons" with the opposite sex and am out of my mind half the time trying to make sense of them. I really need to take Guys 101. Thus the name....

Kutastha is a Sanskrit term for the point between the eyebrows where one focuses during meditation. The term kutastha chaitanya is the awareness of the infinite nature of Spirit inherent in all things.

Andrew,

You are the epitome of cool...well almost. My brother's name is Chaitanya. What I'm curious to know is if you can pronounce it correctly... :p

moLECULAR cell biology

I go to Brandon University.

And I'm a Physics/Math student, so all creativity has been drained from me over years of solving equations.

I love the NBC Soap Passions, and Julian Crane is my favorite character (besides Tabitha). Too bad he was murdered last week, but he'll be back. . .

Well, I just realized that a few SDNers I thought were boys were really girls!!! Anyway, the "Dr." part of my name should be self explanantory. As I told another SDNer when we chatted, I loved the Muppet Babies and Sesame Street when I was kid, so there you have it. I don't relate to Ms. Piggy too much though because I used to be a pretty chubby kid so I think I still find the terms "fat" and "porky" a little offensive :( The rest of them were a little too corny too, especially Scooter and Skeeter!

BTW, I'm a girl.

my real name is ardavan. elementary school kids teased used to call me "artichoke," and then later, my college friends adopted the nickname "choker" from this, as in "Ardy-Choker"

This is probably dumb but I named myself after one of my dogs (by the way, I love <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> my dogs!). I don't really know why I added girl  , I guess its because I am a girl. I am not very creative.
