I'm applying this year, and I need some experience as a Pharm Tech starting right away, part-time.

What's the best way to find a position quickly? Goto Walgreens or Rite Aid and put in an application?

I don't have any experience, so will I likely start out as a cashier?

Thanks!!

Hi!
pharmerted!

You can keep applying at retail Pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, etc,). But, while you waiting to get a job as a Pharmacy Tech you can start volunteering at Hospital pharmacy that way you can put some pharmacy experience in your application.

I hope this helps!

I just sent my resume to every independently owned pharmacy in the phone book. Before I knew it, I was getting interviews and job offers. The independent pharmacies seem to be more willing to take a chance on you. The application process for many of the major community pharmacies are so impersonal. Many of them also require certification or licenses.
