What's the best way to get off the HOLD for interview list! HELP

I need some Big Time Help! I am on Hold at a few schools waiting for an interview. What is the best way to get off of the HOLD list? I know I should send some letters of rec in and my most recent grades. But is there anything else? Should I write a letter and if so what should I say?

i think everyone at this point is on hold for a interview. i've called most of my schools and that is the buz word for them to use. (some schools like vcu actually mean it). so, ive kind of given up on this on hold business. i dont buy it.
