Has anyone heard anything at all from BU lately? I interviewed December 4th, got the acceptability letter a week later, and I have heard nothing since.

Please post ANY info you can, like if you have been accepted, when you interviewed, how long you have been waiting, if you were rejected, and if so, was it pre- or post-interview?

I can't believe I have been waiting 4 months already. I am getting very impatient! 😡

Do you think they sent stuff out on March 29th and we will be hearing something soon? I called on March 19th and the lady said I might hear in April or May. 🙄 But I never gave her my name so I don't believe her.

What's the deal????????

DRa. Foxy,
I think the next batch of acceptances would be sent in May. I stand to be corrected. Keep on keeping on! 🙂

I'm in a similar position--interviewed in Dec, acceptablility letter shortly after, and nothing since. I feel like my application accidently blew out the window or something.

That lady in admissions who picks up the phone doesn't know squat (sorry)! She's probably given some script and reads off it. Am I the only one who feels this way, or does she come across as bored and unhappy w/ her job? She never sounds enthusiastic when I call... 🙄

it's probably that they'll send out a whole batch of acceptances/rejections in May, and didn't want to do anything in between. don't worry about it...you'll hear something soon. they probably just wanna compare everybody to everybody before they send anything else out.

I just received that acceptability letter last week and it says 'acceptance letters will be sent sometime in May. A waitlist will be established in late May or June.'

Just wanted to let you guys know--I called BU today and they said that they'll be sending out the next group of acceptances in May. She also said that the acceptability letter just means that your interview went well. I interviewed there in Dec. This wait is getting to be ridiculous.

Wow..my first post. Anyways, BU is the only school I have been accepted to so far, so I thought I would contribute.
I interviewed at BU on Feb. 25th. I received my acceptable letter March 8th, saying I wouldn't find out anything until May. Then three days later I got an acceptance letter, so I don't know how their admissions works. But most people I talked to still haven't heard anything.

Similar story here to Jaxwax. I interviewed at the end of January, got the "acceptability letter" two weeks later, and was accepted the middle of last week. I'm guessing they're just sending out the acceptances as they go, but who knows with this crazy, crazy process. Jaxwax, are you strongly considering going there?

Yeah, considering it will probably be my only acceptance...I am planning on packing my bags and heading East. I am excited because I really enjoyed my time in Boston when I went to interview. How bout you Capitan?

Maybe they quantify you as an applicant and accept you when your number hits a certain break off point (like OHSU) Each school has it's own scheme to try to get the best students. Keep on hopping!

This leads me to believe that admissions officers that answer the phone have almost no knowledge of decisions made and dispersal of these decisions from the committee. For those waiting, hang in there.

bump

who's in? when did you interview? when did you hear?

😛

I don't get it. I was invited to interview right after I sent that check in. I got my acceptability letter a week after my interview. Maybe since it was my first interview it didn't go as well as I thought it did? I heard I got the only stress interviewer they had. 😛

Dr. Foxy, I'm sure you'll get in, just keep your chest out and chin up. More often than not (at least to me), things desired come as a surprise. I think it would be safest to e-mail the student who conducted your tour and get some form of encouragement and positivity.

To tell you the truth, I originally was aiming for UMDNJ and when they waitlisted me last December, I kept on visitng the school, attending their seminars and speaking to the medical students. I hoped and prayed I'd get in there because it was somehow the barometer of my true worth, being a resident of the state. I've also emailed the admissions officer several times and have once consulted with the Associate Dean. I thought I had my best interview there, and I had a long one... it lasted for about 2 hours. So, you must understand that I did everything I can for this school, and I ended up getting my first acceptance (quickly) from BU.

Doctora Foxy,
Still waiting on Boston also. I have noticed that some people have been accepted and some rejected, but no one has said they on on a waitlist. Do you know whether they waitlist people or just eventually reject them? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Recent interviewees said that their acceptable list mentioned a waitlist being established in May or June I think.

I interviewed last dec (mid) got the acceptable letter in jan and got accepted on the feb 15th batch. My interviewer told me they like people who show great interest and send letters....so I will probably be withdrawing...I am waiting on a financial aid package...I have been told they are notorious for not giving any aid, my experience so far is they are completely unresponsive...Good luck all!
