A couple days, a couple months, etc.? What's a good amount of time to shadow a doc?

Also, what about observing in OR? Do many students observe for long periods of time (months; 1-2/week), or just a couple days?

most people don't have the time to do a few months, nor would you find many doctors who were willing to let it go that long. Any of the doctors I shadowed were for short periods of time (1-4 days), but I've shadowed several doctors, so it adds up to almost two weeks.
