Whats the point of listing your coursework on AMCAS?

If the med schools will have your transcripts whats the point of listing course work?

Med schools won't have your transcripts -- they'll just have a copy of your AMCAS application. Also, every school's transcript is a little different so this standardizes everything so that it's all in the same format

Also, transcripts dont have BCPM gpa, so either way the classes would have to be manually put in in to be able to get the sgpa. I guess it is easier to let students do it, and then verify it, than for the amcas people to do everything themselves...I would hate to have the job of inputting grades in. Verifying, I dont think it would be too bad.
