When can you start filling out secondaries?

I am applying next year. i will be going to europe with a friend from june 1 to july 1, so i will be submitting my amcas when i am there. is there any way i can get a head start on some of the secondaries when i am in the states in may? like will some of them be online already? also, is it okay if i request the transcripts and recommendations to be sent to those schools before i submitted my amcas? thanks!!

Not really, transcripts will be automatically sent with your AMCAS but you just have to wait to be invited to do secondaries and only when you get the secondaries will they ask for letters of rec.

You could go ahead and ask your recommenders for letters, and tell them you'll have information on where to send them later (or use interfolio, which is fabulous).

There's a thread around somewhere with links to secondaries... you could start writing essays in may, taking the gamble that they won't change next year, so when you get back in july they'll be ready to submit.
