When does class start for class of 2006?

I'm just wondering when everyone else starts classes.I'm going to Wake Forest and orientation starts July 29th and classes begin August 5th.Isn't that a little early compared to most medical schools?Pls let me know when other schools begin.

Penn has orientation Aug 14-16 or so. I believe that classes start the following week.

University of Miami has orientation between August 7-9, and classes start on August 12.

Wow everyone starts really early. At Yale orientation is on August 27-29 and class starts September 3.

We start kinda late too... orientation on Aug 30-31st, (no white coat ceremony) and classes start Sept 3rd.

I'm assuming that all schools have nearly the same amount of class days, so I guess most of you will finish in the spring before we do. Not that big of a deal I guess, except that you'll have more time to study for the USMLE Step 1.

Hopkins orientation is August 29th and school starts the day after labor day. I believe Chicago beats all of us in lateness: Pritzker orientation is in mid-september and classes start in late september. Pritzker gets their white coats during orientation, but at Hopkins, you have to pass your first year before getting yours. =)

Yeah, we have almost 2 months to study for the USMLE. Also, the curriculum at UM is designed in a way that you can begin to review for the USMLE as early as January (we finish the science courses by December of the prior year). From January to May (when classes finish for the second year), the class is presented with weekly cases that serve to review all of the material that we had covered since school started. So, there is plenty of time to study for the USMLE, which is pretty sweet.

Well...Excuse me! Just thought I would help out and do something productive. Honestly, I don't understand why people feel the need to try to hide their rudeness by putting a :wink: afterwards. If you want to be rude, go ahead. It doesn't make your post look less rude, it just makes it look like you don't have enough balls to be rude in the first place. So, GATC, I agree. She definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I mean come on, someone else tries to do something productive for once on this website and gets slammed for it. Whatever.

I just remembered some advice I had once seen someone post and that was to not take too seriously posts that are added in the early morning hours. Quake...Good thing I read your other post 'cause I was about to reply rudely to you saying my comment about "being surprised Foxy didn't get to this first" was uncalled for and ridiculous. How is that comment mean? All I meant, and I meant it with sincerity was that Foxy always fixes posts and compiles things so I was surprised that she didn't compile this one first. The only reason I wrote it is because I've seen so many other people say the same thing when they get to the housecleaning before Foxy does. Everyone knows that Foxy posts about 50 posts a day or more so I was really surprised that I actually got the honors of doing the compilation.
