when does ur program's health benefits kick in?

So i finally read through my contract...and health benefits don't actually kick in til 60-90 after start of residency. sheesh..... anyone get their's effective at the start of residency?

Mine are effective first day of residency. doing residency in MA.

When I was a resident in PA, they started right away, but during fellowship in NJ, since the benefits are through a State Employee Plan, it was required that you worked for 60 days before they kicked in.
