When is the best time to apply and good idea without MCAT?

I know the med school application opens May 1st and the latest I can apply like august or September. I want to apply as early as possible (as this is strongly suggested), but I won't be taking the MCAT until the end of April (so I won't get my scores until the end of may.)

Should I apply in early/mid may, and have my scores sent in late may/early June, or should I wait to apply until I get my MCAT scores? Is applying in early June too late?
