I am a 4th year at a US med school. Average grades at best, and 194 Step 1 score on first attempt. I've already applied for family medicine residency programs and received many interview invitations. I'm scheduled to take Step 2 next week, but I just don't feel ready. Because my stats are marginal at best now, I really don't want to screw up Step 2, and at this point, I feel I could only scrape by with a passing score...
My question is this: would taking Step 2 later (December or even January) hurt me significantly in terms of matching or would I be safe to do that?
