when to take the MCAT?

Hi,

I'm a new transfer student at Cal Berkeley. I'm going to start studying for the MCAT this summer and probably take it next year around the same time. Do you think it's a good idea to take the MCAT at that time? I'm already done with all the Pre-Med courses by the way.

There's no point or reason to start studying for the MCAT one year in advance.
