thought i'd centralize these posts under one thread.

i interviewed with the following schools on the following dates:

Columbia (12/1/04)
Wash U in St. Louis (1/14/05)
Yale (2/18/05)
Cornell (2/23/05)
Johns Hopkins (2/25/05)

any idea what day or week i should expect to hear back from any of them?

Columbia: any day
Wash U: Soon, I have no idea
Yale: 3.22.05 (via email if accepted)
Cornell: Like, yesterday (seriously, soon)
Hopkins: Again, no idea.

yo, i interviewed 12/9/05 at dartmouth and got accepted almost exactly one month later (my first acceptance). they have a slightly odd system of accepting/rejecting/waitlisting people. they work from the top and bottom and migrate slowly towards the middle, meaning that they take the applicants they want most immediately, and reject the ones they don't want for sure immediately. so really, the most that they are fence-sitting about are the ones who will have to wait the longest to hear back from them.

again, the process is a crap shoot though. my friend had EXTREMELY strong numbers, fantastic activities, and got interviews at yale, harvard, wash u, duke, vanderbilt. he's an undergrad at dartmouth, and he interviewed two weeks after i did....yet he only recently got waitlisted at dartmouth med. very, very, very strange, if you ask me.
