When will the next batch of UC interview invites be sent out? Anyone got information on this for UCI, UC Davis, UCLA, UCSD, UC Irvine, or UCSF.
Thanks

Not sure, but Irvine put me on hold today.

UCI is so odd. How can someone with a UCSF interview not be invited to Irvine?

I got put on hold too. Still no UC interviews, but not expecting many, if any. Sucks to be in mediocrity like I am.

Well, if anything, this process teaches us not to expect ANYTHING. And don't worry about the UCs. They are slower than the other schools and their interview season just barely started. It is far from over! 👍

I sure hope I get one soon. Good luck with your two UC interviews. You will definitely fall in love with the UCSF campus and the city! Its beautiful there. 🙂

UCI is apparently more selective than schools like UCSF, U Penn, Yale, Wash U.

Maybe On Hold at UCI actually means we are part of an elite squadron that they are selecting for a special experimental medical school where they teach new medical theory gained through Nasa's interdimensional travels.

Yeah, you're probably right ... 😉

You sound bitter. I got put on hold at UCI today too, and I have 9 interviews (Duke, Yale, UPenn, Cornell, UMich, UCSD, NW, Wake Forest, and UIowa). What's even more perplexing is I'm an undergrad at UCI and a few years ago they accepted 26 of us. I haven't been doing too well with the UC's though. Got my interview at UCSD after being placed on hold. UCDavis has had my application for over six weeks. Do you think they're more selective with giving interviews early because they're on rolling admissions? The UC's also interview a significantly fewer number of applicants than the Ivies.

i seem to be getting different results from you.. i've done uci and just got ucla, but only have 3 other interviews. oh well. my PI is kind of a big shot with connections to ucsd med too, and still no interview. this whole process seems like a silly crapshoot.

UCI may not believe that a strong UCSF candidate will have a great interest in UCI, and it may be saving itself time and money by being selective in its interviews. Just a thought.

Haha, I agree. 😀

SanDiegoSOD, I don't know if what you said is true, but rationalizing it like that makes me feel a ton better. 👍

i've been searching the forum to see what the 'on hold' status (that i have been recently apponted to) means at uci.

seem to be having some trouble with the sdn search feature. can anyobdy let me know.

thanks

It doesn't seem to mean much, people often get interviews in a while. However, quite many people with good numbers have been put on hold. Anyhow, Davis sent out some interviews yesterday.
