Good Evening,
I applied this year with what my advisor told me was a "solid" application when I have thought it to be a "shaky" one. [3.43 science GPA, 3.77 overall GPA, 27Q MCAT, 5 years ER experience of which 2 have been clinical, etc, various academic stuff, the usual, psych major]. Anyways, I sent out about 13 of 18 secondaries by mid-august and have had only one invite. Am I missing out on something? I got confirmations of complete applications from the schools in the beginning of september but I feel like at this rate, i will already have a decision from the school that i have interviewed at before i have another interview. this is so nerve-wracking. Does anyone have any comments or suggestions? Should i be calling these schools? I don't want to pester them but I really want to know! 😱 Thanks!

Hopefully,
The future, Doc Bonnie

Okay, your advisor was okay in saying "solid" applicant, but there are some tiny red flags that are being raised here. Your mcat isn't superb (especially not here on sdn, but don't let the 34ers get to you), but it's the average score for applicants. Your gpa is about the same-- your science gpa is a little less than par though.

Understand that med schools get thousands of applicants who are just as qualified if not more so than you and I, so we shouldn't "expect" a ton of interviews. It's also pretty early in the process if you were just verified in early September; if you don't get anymore invites by spring, that's when you ought to start worrying.
