Question to PGY-4 who were successful in finding jobs: where did you think jobs were this year? was there more need for MS and EMG/Interventional pain or inpt stuff? Did you think demand is getting less? What about salaries? What types of practice did you run into?🙄 😀

well, I'm a PGYI so no stories to tell. However, I would be very interested to hear what you encountered as far as the job market is concerned.

regards.

well, I am in the fellowship track and as far as other seniors in our program, there has been no problems finding good jobs.

I am not sure if good responce is across the board . I guess fellowship will help a lot specially in pain

regards.

I'm a PGY-4 at Columbia/Cornell and have spent the past month interviewing for jobs with a few more scheduled this month and the next. Most of the opportunities require a mixture of inpatient and outpatient with some EMG. Some states like NY is more saturated and competitive. The midwest, central, and South have the most opportunities where there is active recruitment. Of course practices with spine intervention is the most lucrative but will require a fellowship.

I will be a pain fellow starting July 03. Hopefully spine management and interventional pain management goals.
