I was curious gals/guys...
The field of dentistry always seems to be coming out with new innovations that are so creative and patient friendly. Particularly in the way of preventive products for at home use. Everyone here has probably seen some of these things....polishing pads on manual toothbrushes, floss built into toothpaste caps, flavored toothpastes...ect..
What I am wondering is...do companies like Oral-B and Colgate and such employ practicing dentists (or even dental students) to do research to come up with these things? Granted, the things I have mentioned could have been come up with by any scientist or researcher...but what about the products that require very specific knowledge of dentistry?
I guess I am wondering this because I would love to do work like this as well as being a general practicioner. I think I am a bit of an innovative guy , and combining my passion for dentistry with that would make me a happy camper.
Let me know what you gals/guys think, or if you know anyone who does this sort of work.
thanks!
