I feel like I've gotten the PS material down pretty well ( by a steady diet of EK and TPR notes) but I know that I need to start actually practicing problems if I want to bring my score up in PS. I do have a used TPR workbook and few kaplan topical exams that are suppose to focus on problem solving, but where are some other places I can look to for more productive PS problems? The reason I ask is because I hear a lot of the kaplan practice material is nothing like the real MCAT and therefore are not worth even doing. Any advice would be greatly aprpeciated. THanks!

Stick with what you have for practice and be sure to work your way through all of the AAMC practice exams and you should be set. If you are using TPR, Kaplan, EK, or berkeley then you are fine. All of the test prep companies have difficult PS material while the AAMC exams are more realistic.

Try to do all of your PS passages timed. when using the TPR Science workbook I would do 3 passages at a time and set a time limit of 24-27 minutes

-use AAMC to asses your weaknesses. This is all relative.
-use the MCAT prep company material to review/work on those weaknesses
-if you are scoring 2 points or higher on PS compared to BS you may want to spend more time on your BS

I am scoring usually 2-3 points higher on PS then BS and I majored in Biology... what gives.... 😛 its scray actually, I have improved in verbal slighly but my BS mark seems to stay at the same point... but its not constant I get between 10 - 12 usually, more on the 10 side tho... any advice on how to really improve BS?

What are you talking about? Kaplan material is excellent for PS. Princeton Review material, on the other hand, is not as great.

Having been through many books, I must say that PS materials are not all the same. For verbal, the passages are pretty much all the same. For biology, the same thing. But for PS, Berkeley is far better than anything else out there. If you can get their in-class chemistry and physics passages, there is nothing better. They are realistic and their explanations really helped. You don't need to review anything if you just read their answers. Just my $0.02.

Whatever you do, good luck. It's all about doing passages.
