Hi everyone,

For those who have had an interview at Temple, I hope it went well for you guys. Where did you guys stay? On the list of hotels that they emailed me, they are all 10-22 mins away....seems kinda far for me. Sunshine, Conwell, Carlyle...are closer. I've never stayed at those hotels before so I have no idea. I want to find somewhere close to Temple because I've read lots a bad threads about the vicinity and I've never been to Philli so I think I would be better off staying at a close hotel. If you guys know of any that is decent, cheap, and close, please let me know? THANK YOU!!! By the way, my inteview is on 10/25, anyone joining me?? 😍

Thanks,
Jen

I'm going to be there on 11/2, and I've been checking out the hotels. I think it's probably best to stay a little ways away from the campus. I know that the Hamton inn is right near the subway, and there is a subway stop right outside the school so that's where I'll be staying most likely.

When I interviewed last year, I stayed at the holiday inn express in center city. The hotel is in the nice part of town and has free breakfast on the first floor. I took the broad street line of septa (philly's subway system). It's a block or 2 from the hotel and it takes you right to the school. Good luck at your interviews.

I just was there last week and also stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. I would recommend it. The subway near the hotel (Walnut-Locust station on the orange line) takes you right to the school. I don't know if you are flying in like I did. If you are, take the train from the airport then the orange line. It'll cost you like 7 bucks instead of $25 for the taxi. The hotel area is central for sight seeing, shopping, restaurants, etc.

thank you so much! i am flying from FL but back home first in VA then drive to PA monday, the day before the inteview. I'm now considering Holiday inn and Best Western. I think Best Western is a bit closer isn't it?

hollyday inn it is then! 😀

mind telling me what the rate is for the place?

i have the interview coming up on the 1st of Nov!!!

The Temple rate I paid was $89 per night. Not bad. I didn't check out any of the other rates since it was the first hotel I called and I thought the location and proximity to the subway were good enough.

Holiday Inn Express w/ student discount was the cheapest on the list that Brian provided. I paid around the same as spamtoit

I ended up staying at Best Western. Really good price, after tax is $96. Nice and clean, decent place but the heater was kinda loud. By the way, when you guys go down to PA, bring warm clothes!!

I just stayed around the airport at Fairfield Inn by Marriot, it took about 45 mins to the school from there. I had no problem as there isn't too much traffic from the airport to the dental school. But I would leave at least 1 hr. 10 mins. prior to interview time...just to be safe!

When we were in Philly for Temple interview a few years ago, we booked a night of hotel room through Priceline... stayed at Wyndham (pretty nice.. easily 3 stars) for $30/night. It was in the historic district in downtown, I believe... When we went to BU the next day, we stayed at Holiday Inn (through Priceline too) for $35. We tried to do the same for NYU/Columbia, but nothing under $100 in NYC even through Priceline.. unbelievable.

Definitely try priceline... I think the closer you are to the date, the cheaper and better the deal you will get.
