Which lender did you pick for Stafford loans?

The big ones are AAMC(Medloans), Access, and AES right? But when I started reading the differences, my head started spinning.

Just curious which lender you guys used and why.

Thanks in advance.

Stay away from MEDLOANS. A couple of friends of mine and myself are using either T.H.E. or the Stafford Maximizer Loan through Bank of America. Read about it on this thread. Both of these loans have no origination fee and have decent repayment incentives. MEDLOANS will charge you 3-4 percent of your proceeds in fees 👎 (although, their repayment incentives are nice).

I'm getting my Subs. Stafford and Unsub. Stafford through US Bank (no origination fee or guarantee fee, decent repayment); I'm getting my alternative loan from KeyBank.

I'm using Access Group for my subsidized Stafford. It seems like everyone's about the same on this.

Sorry what exactly is all these "origination fees" and whatnot?

Repayment options?

Is there a FAQ somewhere?

i'm confused too....

go to fin aid forums. most schools have special agreements with lenders, so ask your fin aid office what they are..by special i mean, they might not charge that dumb origination fee or have a small one.

most of these lenders are 6 of these, a half dozen of the other. it's really hard to tell one from the other. often times, you need an accountant to figure out which is better.

I refuse to support an organization that is affiliated with Need Access! It is such an evil idea to charge students to apply for financial aid and to profit from it.
